We know how expensive and daunting it can be when you are starting out as a rower or joining a club, so we have compiled a list of less expensive, non-club branded items of clothing and equipment that you might want to buy once you have spoken with your coach and crew.

There is also a full list of Maidenhead Rowing Club branded kit available through the website here.

Other than the club Unisuit, all other items are non-essential.

Black or white long-sleeved technical top or skin/leggings Tight fitting technical tops/leggings to be worn underneath unisuits for cold weather training.

Please do not feel obliged to buy ‘official’ club versions of these.

There are inexpensive plain white or black leggings/technical tops available from e.g Sports Direct and Decathlon that are fine to wear with club Unisuits when racing.

NB/These need to be technical tops rather than thermals because they wick sweat away from the body during exercise. The Sports Direct Sondico Long-sleeved Core Base Layer is a good example of what is needed.

Seat Pads A small rubber seat that can be attached to the rowing seat for comfort.

Rock the Boat (approx. £12)
