Dear All,

I hope you all had a great weekend, unfortunately the river wasn’t playing game on saturday but it did offer some respite today which enabled our crews to get out on the water, all be it a little fast, but its all good experience.

As we are now well into the winter months we may well be seeing the river go on to red boards a few times this winter but hopefully not as much as last year though! But never the less this will put strain on our current facilities so hopefully we will publish a booking table for our erg room etc as it will be in use a lot during red boards.

Last weekend was our AGM which in my eyes is a very important meeting in which you as a member get to see how your elected committee are moving your club forward but i must admit i was slightly disappointed about the low turn out this year i would like to highlight that meetings like this provide a platform for anyone wishing to voice an opinion, suggestion or criticism in the running of our club because we all share responsibility for the future of our great club so please get involved. It was a good meeting and i do hope you all enjoyed finding out how things are going and moving forward and i must thank you all personally for your support in my first year as captain.

We also now have over 1000 twitter followers which is a fantastic platform for us to promote our club, we use this to promote our club and make announcements so if your not already following @maidenheadrc please do for updates and things to do with our club!

Racing Updates

Firstly, one of our junior girls Abbie Bird went to GB trials last weekend in Boston Lincs. This is a big deal and is the first step for juniors on the GB ladder, Abbie represented the club so well and came 54th over all in the scull and she was 2nd in the J16s so a massive well done to Abbie!

Hampton head was on yesterday and good continent from our Junior squad went. We had wins in the J15 boys coxed quads, J15 single sculls (kleshnev) and the J16 girls double scull. Well done to all the juniors! your doing Maidenhead proud! results can be found here

Scullers head was also on yesterday over the championship course on the tideway from Mortlake to Putney. We had 5 scullers representing Maidenhead yesterday all of whom did really well! results can be found via the scullers head website that is still having difficulties so please bear with it.
