Dear All,

I hope you all had a very good weekend and didn’t get blown away by the winds and rain. I saw that we had a few crews out on the river practising for racing in hurricanes, hope it helped!
As we power on through January we look towards the first bit of racing for 2015. There are many events coming up including Thames Valley Trail Head at the local olympic course Dorney. There are also a few competitions heading out on to the tideway in London including Quintin Head and Hammersmith Head all looking forward to the big head races in a few months time! Please note that a lot of events are becoming full very quickly now so i suggest that you plan well in advance for these, as we hope to see many Maidenhead crews performing at these events.
Its that season again for the river to get a bit angry: hopefully not as bad as last year, but there's still time! This may mean that practicing in your racing crews may become harder due to lack of time on the water. Although this is very annoying i do hope you relies its for all of our safety, many clubs will be in the same boat! But cross fingers old Father Thames behaves this year!

A Few Notices
Firstly the first Time Trial of 2015 is sheduled this weekend! Billy Brooks is already planing it, so it maybe worth to get some names for some crews together. PLEASE NOTE due to the current river flow its most likely only going to be open to experienced crews and bigger boats, the final decision on the go ahead will most likely be friday. More details will follow.

Dear All,

Happy New Year!!!! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and are ready to hit the 2015 season running! The river is behaving for now which is better than this time last year lets hope it stays this way.

I am very excited for the 2015 season I think we have some very promising squads and athletes and we must all do our best to really get behind them and support our team this year. January and Febuary are tough months but don’t forget Medals are won during these months they are just collected in the summer months.

We will be really pushing the Club Bar this year so please remember its open Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoon its a great place to meet up with your squad, friends or have squad meetings. The backbone to a successful club is a good social scene and after the successful Christmas party it shows that we have a very social club! Events will be published soon so please keep a look out.

We have a new You Tube page where we will be publishing all our videos and videos that we hope will interest you our members. You can find it HERE

Dear All,ergcomp

I hope you all enjoyed last Friday's Christmas party, it was great to see so many members turn up.

Unfortunately due to the rise in stream conditions we had to cancel the Christmas Eights but instead we put into swing the scratch ergo competition which seemed to go down well apart from the first wave realising they had to go 1000m instead of the 250m due to a little misunderstanding. The winners of the scratch ergo regatta are pictured on the right.

A big thanks goes to Roger who updated our ergs and rigged them up and also Julie for organising the competition.

I hope you all have had a good few days on the river now that its behaving. It just remains for me to wish you all a Merry Christmas and have a fantastic few days! Eat loads!

        Your as always,
        James
