The Senior Men's squad caters for members 18+ of all levels.
The Senior Men’s Squad at Maidenhead Rowing Club is a competitive and ambitious team, united by the goal of achieving success at the highest levels of the sport as well as providing a home for those wishing to compete at local or regional events. We compete at prestigious events such as Henley Royal Regatta and the British Rowing Championships, while also securing victories at local and regional Head races and regattas. In recent years, we’ve been proud to see squad members represent the club at GB trials, with some going on to compete at European regattas.
Our squad continues to grow in both size and strength, supported by the guidance of an experienced coach who provides technical expertise and strategic insight. This ensures we’re constantly developing, both on and off the water, and always striving to perform at our best.
Our training programme is designed to build technical skill, physical fitness and athleticism, combining water-based sessions with a strong focus on land-based strength and conditioning. From single sculls (1x) to eights (8+), our water sessions are complemented by weight training, erg workouts and cross-training to prepare us for the physical and technical demands of top-level competition.
We train six days a week, offering a structured programme to support the objectives of the Rowing Club and the athletes, for those committed to driving fitness and boat speed as well as personal development.
We recognise the importance of balancing rowing with life’s other commitments and provide flexibility for members to tailor their schedules around work and personal priorities.
Whether you’re an experienced rower aiming to compete at elite events or a sculler looking to push your limits, the Senior Men’s Squad is a welcoming, fun and focused team. We foster a supportive environment where every member is encouraged to grow, achieve and succeed. This is all done whilst recognising the need for decompression and socials, which take place regularly.
